Carver: Radomiak’s wins are no coincidence

On Monday, May 4, Lechia Gdańsk will face Radomiak Radom away from home. Ahead of the Matchday 31 clash in the Ekstraklasa, head coach John Carver spoke to the media.

Squad situation:
We are more or less in a similar situation as last week – Michał Głogowski and Dawid Kurminowski will not be available for the match. Kacper Sezonienko will also miss out due to suspension for yellow cards. The rest of the players have recovered. We have also taken care of Camilo, who had a minor injury – he has trained with us almost the entire week.

What the coaching staff knows about Radomiak:
The opponents have basically changed everything. There has been a change of coach, adjustments in the squad and structure, and most importantly, improved results – they’ve won their last two matches. The hardest thing is predicting what lineup they will use on Monday. They have a large squad and it’s difficult to say who will play. I believe Radomiak’s recent wins are no coincidence, and they’ve managed to turn things in their favor.

Is finishing something Lechia is working on in training?
All of our attacking players have scored many goals in the past and will certainly score again in the future. Sometimes everyone has a bad day at work – you, me – and I’m not going to criticize players for missing chances. What pleases me is that we are creating goal-scoring opportunities. I told the players not to be too hard on themselves, because sometimes the ball goes in, and sometimes it doesn’t.
