Vladyslav Lupashko ahead of Ruch vs Lechia

Ahead of the clash in Chorzów, head coach Vladyslav Lupashko answered questions from the media.

The point earned in Bielsko-Biała gave the team more confidence:

It helps the overall situation within the team. We also created chances in our previous matches, but things look different when the team isn’t picking up points. I’m very happy that there is now more unity and cooperation within the squad. The challenge will be that when new players arrive, we will have to take a small step back with them and introduce them to our principles of play.

On the instructions Camilo Mena was given for the previous match:

Did you like the way he played? The idea is that you shouldn’t know exactly where a particular player is playing (laughs). My players need to switch positions quickly; they cannot be static. We teach them during the training process to make use of the available space whenever it opens up. We are looking for new players with a similar profile.

What kind of Ruch does the coach expect to face?

I can say that our opponents have a lot of quality on the ball, with plenty of positional rotations and dynamism in their play. They have a very experienced coach. In their previous matches, they haven’t had much luck, and they have also had some problems in their build-up play, with their opponents taking advantage of their mistakes. They are a very experienced team, but we are going there knowing who we are and what club we represent. We have to fight for the points.
