Vladyslav Lupashko after Lechia vs Miedź Legnica
Lechia Gdańsk defeated Miedź Legnica 2:1 at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk. After the match, head coach Vladyslav Lupashko reflected on the Green and Whites’ performance, discussing the demanding schedule, the contribution of the young players and the competition for the goalkeeper position.
The coach’s assessment of the match:
First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone. We played against a very strong team. Having analysed their matches, we could see that they are one of the stronger sides in the league. We were a little disappointed after our previous match, but last week was very demanding for us. We had three consecutive away games. I would also like to thank everyone responsible for organizing our away trips. They are true professionals in their field.
Recovery after the previous match played a key role:
Our last three matches were played away from home, which involved a lot of travelling. My main priority was to make sure we had enough time to recover properly, as the workload had been very high. I knew that if we managed to use our training sessions effectively for recovery, we would be very strong.
The coach also praised Axel Holewiński, who was in goal for the Green and Whites:
I am very pleased with Axel’s work. We analyse many different aspects before deciding who will play. As you can see, we give everyone a chance. Axel, Wojciech Madej, Bartosz Szczepankiewicz, Kuba Adkonis and Igor Bambecki all featured in this match. We will continue to work this way.
