Vladislav Lupashko After Puszcza vs Lechia
Following Lechia Gdańsk’s 2:1 away defeat to Puszcza Niepołomice, head coach Vladislav Lupashko reflected on the White and Greens’ performance during the post-match press conference. He highlighted squad availability issues, the emotional impact of the recent derby match, and the need to improve the team’s attacking play.
The Coach’s Assessment of the Match:
We prepared for this opponent and knew it wouldn’t be an easy match, especially with them playing at home. We expected a lot of set pieces. We had some problems following our previous match. Many players fell ill, while others were injured and had to stay at home. Even an hour before kick-off, we still had doubts about our starting line-up.
Tomasz Neugebauer Was Among Those Absent in Niepołomice:
We’re counting on him. We’ll see whether he’s fit to play in the next match, but we don’t know yet. We’re also hoping Narek will be available, as he’s dealing with a minor injury. At this stage, we can’t say for certain how things will develop.
What, in the Coach’s Opinion, Influenced the Match:
First and foremost, emotions. I already spoke about this after our previous match. These are young players who had never experienced a match like our last one before. I stressed to them how important it is to be able to switch their focus and manage their emotions.
This is certainly not a normal situation. We should have played more aggressively in attack. Regardless of how many players are unavailable, we should have approached the match with greater aggression. Our team is very young, and when more experienced players are missing, it always creates additional difficulties.
