The Ukraine U-21 national team, as part of their preparations for the final tournament of Euro 2025, played a friendly match against Slovenia in Turkey.
In the 15th minute of the match, Anton Tsarenko made a pass near the opponent’s goal to Borys Krushynskyi, who then assisted Vladyslav Veletniy in scoring a goal for Ukraine, equalizing the score at 1-1.
In the second half, Anton was no longer on the pitch, but Maksym Khlan and Bohdan Viunnyk came into play. In the 59th minute, Maksym took a solid shot on goal, but the Slovenian goalkeeper managed to save it.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but after the game, the teams decided to determine the winner in a penalty shootout. The Slovenians were more precise, winning 6-5.
On 25 March, the Ukrainian U-21 national team will face the Polish youth national team.
In the final tournament of Euro 2025, Ukraine will compete in Group D alongside Finland, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Their first group stage match will take place on June 12 against Denmark.
