Axel Holewiński joins Lechia Gdańsk

Axel Holewiński has joined Lechia Gdańsk. The 20-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract with the White and Greens until June 30, 2030.

Holewiński spent many years with Pogoń Szczecin, where he played for the club’s youth teams and reserves. In the 2024/2025 season, he joined Polonia Bytom on loan and helped the team secure promotion to the second tier of Polish football.

The White and Greens’ new goalkeeper also has experience with Poland’s youth national teams. He has represented his country at U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels. In 2023, he was part of Poland’s squad for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

“Axel has all the qualities of a modern goalkeeper. He showed a strong and genuine desire to join Lechia. The opportunity to bring him to our club with the future in mind is a great one for us. We made a significant effort to bring Axel to Lechia” – said Paolo Urfer, President of Lechia Gdańsk.
