Miłosz Kalahur took part in a press briefing before Saturday’s match against Pogoń Szczecin.
On the atmosphere before the match against Pogoń:
– I think the last two weeks were productive, even though we trained with a reduced squad because three players were away with Ukraine’s U21 team. We also had a few minor injuries, but I believe it was a time of hard work and focus solely on the upcoming match rather than thinking about what lies ahead for the rest of the year.
On Pogoń’s Poor Away Results:
– This is football, and there’s no point in looking back at what has happened. Every match is different. Pogoń has its goals; we have ours. Two teams will step onto the field, both aiming for three points. We’ll do everything we can to ensure that those three points stay in Gdańsk.
On Conrado’s return and Miłosz’s place in squad:
– I do my job, and personnel decisions are up to the staff and coach. I do my best in matches, in training, and what the personal decision will be is not up to me.
About preparations for the match against Pogoń Szczecin:
– I don’t want to give away details here. We have them analyzed. We know that they have some problems in some aspects of the game, which we will want to exploit. That’s why I don’t want to comment here on the forum and reveal what we’ve been working on, but we know where their shortcomings are and we’ll want to take advantage of that.
On the attitude before the match and the international break:
– We approach the match against Pogoń like we approach every match. We are going out to win. We’ve been working for two weeks on those aspects that haven’t worked out for us since the beginning of the season, like in Kielce those strikes from distance – there was practically none of that.
This is somewhere our shortcoming, the third period, and here somewhere we put emphasis on it. We also worked on the tactical aspects, so we took a comprehensive approach to these two weeks.
On defence:
– The clean sheet in Kielce is something to be happy about. As I said in interviews after that match, it’s about building on small things. Matches where we keep a clean sheet boost the confidence of the goalkeeper, the defense, and the whole team. If we don’t concede goals, we can’t lose. But, as I mentioned, our finishing needs to improve. Without scoring goals, we won’t win.
