Carver: Virtually every team is still playing for something

Raków Częstochowa are the next opponents for the Biało-Zieloni. John Carver’s team will face the Medaliki on Saturday, April 25 at 5:30 PM.

Squad situation ahead of the Raków match:

We have a few minor issues, some injuries. Dawid Kurminowski and Michał Głogowski will not be in the matchday squad because they are not even back in full training yet. Apart from them, I think everyone will be ready. Kurminowski? It’s nothing serious. It’s a matter of one or two weeks, but we want to be cautious. We are in good shape, the staff are doing a very good job. We have these minor injuries, but every club deals with that at this stage of the season. Our players are also in a good mental place, there’s good energy, and we can’t wait for the match.

What kind of opponent the coach expects:

They’ve had a great run in Europe and next week they play in the Polish Cup final. They are a very well-organized team and play in a clearly defined way. They will certainly be a difficult opponent, but we want to win. I know many fans are planning to come to the match – that’s good. Supporters of both clubs have a good relationship. I can’t wait for the game and we ask for your support!

Lechia is a team that performs well against sides that want to play football:

We really do know how to play against top opponents! I don’t know why it happens that we play better against them. I hope we continue that. I wouldn’t say we are in a crisis. We are not in a slump, and we weren’t as poor against Piast as people think. This league shows how difficult it is to win matches. With five rounds left, virtually every team is still playing for something, which is unusual. That’s football – there will be difficult moments, but our confidence is not dropping. We have to focus on the future; we have no influence over the past. We can’t change it.
