CONFERENCE: Coach Szymon Grabowski before the match against Cracovia

Coach Szymon Grabowski attended a press conference ahead of the upcoming match against Cracovia.

On the squad situation:

– We have some issues after the last game in terms of player health. But I think at this point in the season, every team is dealing with some problems, big or small. We’re used to it. Hopefully, more players will join us in the next training sessions, as we still have some time before Sunday’s game.

About Camilo Mena’s injury:

– It’s not as bad as it initially seemed. Although we won’t have Camilo back until the end of the year, I believe there’s a chance he’ll be in reasonably good health by the winter break.

On Tomas Bobcek’s injury:

– Tomek recently had knee surgery, so he won’t be available until next year. The post-surgery prognosis is positive, and we hope he’ll be training with us normally by January or February at the latest.

On the upcoming match with Cracovia:

– We haven’t seen Cracovia play so offensively in a while. Credit to the staff and club management for making it look the way it does. I think Cracovia has a well-balanced squad. We could debate which team has more injuries, but the quality on their side remains evident on the pitch. Cracovia is very well-organized defensively and highly effective in the final third, showing strong offensive play. At times, they simplify their game instead of playing a classic ‘Kraków-style’ football. But I believe it benefits both their results and their fans, who truly enjoy watching Cracovia play. We’re planning to focus on our defense, but we also know that, with Kamil Glik absent, their defense may not be as solid as it was recently, so we aim to capitalize on our offensive strengths as well.

On defensive lineup options:

We have a few ideas. Given the absences of several players I can’t currently rely on, we’re considering Bujar Pllana in the starting lineup, along with Andrei Chindris, and possibly others. We have to be prepared for everything. Friday and Saturday will be crucial in deciding who will play.

On Tomasz Neugebauer’s form:

– In the match against Piast Gliwice, the idea was indeed for Tomek to play in the first lineup, and that’s how we prepared for that match. However, Tomek was not 100% ready for the match and in such a situation I want the strongest team in every way to perform on the pitch. Tomek is 100% in training with us and will certainly be an important figure in the match on Sunday.
