The Polish Football Association’s Club Licensing Committee has reinstated Lechia Gdańsk’s license to play in the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa for the 2024/2025 season. The first match of the Biało-Zieloni will take place on February 1, 2025, against Motor Lublin.
The temporary transfer ban will remain in place until the club settles its outstanding debts with Ruch Chorzów according to the agreed terms. The deadline for payment is set for February 10, 2025.
„Lechia Gdańsk is a remarkable football club, and our goal is to stabilize its position and ensure its long-term future. The restructuring mission, initiated by the new ownership in 2023, will be continued with the same dedication we’ve demonstrated so far.
We are also working diligently on strategies to generate new revenue streams from the club’s activities, which will help build the resources needed to secure Lechia’s ambitious and credible presence on the Polish football scene in the years ahead.
The standard of football and organization of clubs in Poland is constantly improving, and it is essential that Lechia Gdańsk keeps pace with this progress.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all our employees, players, staff members, partners, and fans for their passion and invaluable support during this challenging period.
I fully understand that the recent challenges have had the greatest impact on them.
We are facing numerous challenges, both on and off the pitch, but overcoming them will require unity from the entire Lechia community” – said Paolo Urfer, President of Lechia Gdańsk.
