Lechia Gdańsk ended the season with a 2:3 defeat against GKS Katowice. Although the hosts controlled most of the game, it was the visitors who ultimately walked away with the victory. Goals for the White and Greens were scored by Kacper Sezonienko and Maksym Khlan.
From the first minutes, both teams played cautiously, trying to feel each other out. In the 5th minute, Mateusz Kowalczyk attempted the first shot of the game, but his long-range effort flew high over the crossbar. Moments later, after a corner kick from Bartosz Nowak, Oskar Repka had a chance, but his header was not a problem for Lechia’s goalkeeper. In the 11th minute, the visitors struck first. Borja Galan received a pass from deep, entered the penalty area, and played the ball back to Filip Szymczak, who struck it first-time. After a deflection, the ball found its way into the net.
Lechia tried to respond quickly. In the 15th minute, Loup-Diwan Gueho headed the ball after Miłosz Kałahur’s corner, but Dawid Kudła made a great save. Eventually, Lechia got their goal. Camilo Mena played the ball into the box to an unmarked Kacper Sezonienko, who calmly controlled and struck from close range to equalize. The score remained unchanged at halftime, despite efforts from both teams to tilt the balance.
Second-Half goals
After the break, the hosts took the initiative. In the 48th minute, Sezonienko nearly scored again after being set up by Mena, but his header narrowly missed the post. Soon after, Mena and Bohdan Viunnyk threatened again, but lacked the finishing touch. In the 65th minute, Lechia gave their fans another reason to cheer when Maksym Khlan fired a shot from distance. The ball went straight at Kudła but slipped through his hands into the net. Lechia took a 2:1 lead, but the visitors didn’t give up. Fifteen minutes before the end of regular time, Oskar Repka equalized for Katowice. Both teams fought until the end, but the decisive blow came from the visitors. In the final minutes, after a corner kick, Arkadiusz Jędrych flicked the ball on, and in an unfortunate attempt to clear it, Miłosz Kałahur sent it into his own net. Lechia had to settle for a 2–3 defeat.
