Lechia Gdańsk’s fourth pre-season friendly ended in a 3:1 victory over Olimpia Elbląg. Goals for the White and Greens were scored by Tomáš Bobček (twice) and Bujar Pllana.
The first opportunity for Lechia came just moments after the match began, when Bobček and then Kapić had their chances, though neither found the net. The visitors looked for their chance from a set piece, but Sarnavskyi remained untroubled. The goalless scoreline lasted until the 33rd minute, when Lechia finally took the lead thanks to a goal from Bobček. The Slovak striker could have scored again shortly after, but missed the target.
Second half continuation
At halftime, coach John Carver made three changes, bringing on Szymon Weirauch, Bartosz Brzęk, and Anton Tsarenko. In the 51st minute, Lechia extended their lead to 2:0, when Bujar Pllana reacted quickest in a goalmouth scramble and finished from close range.
In the 61st minute, Olimpia were awarded a penalty for a handball, which they converted confidently. In response, Bobček scored his second of the game, restoring Lechia’s two-goal lead. From that moment on, the White and Greens were in complete control. Although more goals could have been added, the final whistle confirmed the 3:1 scoreline.
