Lechia Gdańsk returns from Szczecin with a valuable point. In Matchday 33 of the PKO Ekstraklasa, the Gdańsk side faced Pogoń Szczecin away, and the match ended in a 3:3 draw. Goals for the visitors were scored by Kacper Sezonienko, Ivan Zhelizko, and Michał Głogowski.
The match started at a high tempo, with both teams immediately battling to gain an advantage. Lechia surprised the hosts with aggressive pressing and determination to secure all three points. In the 3rd minute, the White and Greens created the first dangerous chance after capitalizing on a Pogoń mistake. Viunnyk raced into the penalty area, but his shot was confidently saved by Cojocaru.
Lechia Gdańsk quickly confirmed their dominance. In the 6th minute, Kapić delivered a precise cross to Sezonienko, who headed the ball past the goalkeeper to give Lechia the lead. The visitors kept up the pressure in pursuit of more goals, but Pogoń didn’t stand idly by. In the 15th minute, Kamil Grosicki created a chance on his own, dribbling past Dominik Piła and firing a powerful long-range shot that forced Weirauch into a save, pushing the ball out for a corner. Koutris had a chance after the corner, but his effort went wide.
The match maintained its high intensity, much to the delight of the fans. Grosicki repeatedly tested Lechia’s defense with his runs and crosses, but Weirauch remained well-positioned and alert. Lechia’s defense also held firm, limiting Pogoń’s access to the box. In the 31st minute, a cross from Przyborek into the visitors’ box led to an unfortunate own goal by Elias Olsson, bringing the match level. The visitors didn’t back down and regained the lead just minutes later. In the 40th minute, Ivan Zhelizko fired a spectacular long-range shot that left the Pogoń keeper helpless. That goal reignited Lechia’s hope and confidence. However, before the break, Pogoń equalized again. Ulvestad took advantage of a Zhelizko mistake, dribbled past him, and slotted the ball in at the near post.
Second-half Drama
After the break, Pogoń came out with even greater determination to take control of the match. The hosts attacked with intensity and created several dangerous chances early in the second half. Kolouris and Przyborek tested Lechia, but the visitors’ organized defense held strong.
Pogoń increased the tempo and played aggressively, forcing Lechia into mistakes. Their efforts paid off in the 72nd minute when Grosicki pulled the ball back to Koulouris, who easily beat the defenders and slotted home to give the hosts the lead. But Lechia was not done. In the 79th minute, the match was briefly halted due to flares in the stands. After the restart, the visitors pressed forward in search of an equalizer. Substitutions gave the team fresh energy, and they attacked with more confidence. Zhelizko tried multiple long-range efforts, and Kałahur attempted to break through the defense, but without success. In the final minutes, Lechia took the initiative, increasing the pace and pressure around Pogoń’s box. In the 90th minute, after a well-constructed and dynamic play, Michał Głogowski unleashed a precise and beautiful strike to level the score at 3:3.
