Ukraine’s youth national team played another away sparring match. This time they faced the Italian U-21 national team in preparation for the 2025 European Championships.
Bohdan Viunnyk started the match against Italy in the starting lineup. Our striker remained on the turf until the 81st minute of the match, when he was replaced on the field by Ihor Krasnopir. Anton Tsarenko appeared on the playing field in the 58th minute of the match, and Maksym Khlan in the 61st minute.
The first goal of the game was scored by the Italians – in the 26th minute Giovanni Fabbian opened the score. However, the Ukrainians quickly responded and just two minutes later Ilya Kvasnytsya leveled the score. Before the end of the first half, the hosts came out on top again – Francesco Pio Esposito successfully finished the action after a corner kick in the 45th minute.
In the second half, the Ukrainians did not let up. In the 83rd minute Anton Tsarenko brilliantly passed the ball to Ihor Krasnopir, who scored the goal for the tie. The match ended in a 2:2 draw.
