Coach John Carver answered journalists’ questions before the match against Puszcza Niepołomice.
How does the coach assess Lechia’s performance in the match against Zagłębie Lubin:
Overall, I’m happy with the result of this match. We scored three goals, but despite the opponent scoring only one, in the second half we gave them too many opportunities to score more. We will work on reducing such chances for the opponent in the future, if not eliminating them entirely.
Does Friday’s women’s national team match interfere with the team’s regular training:
There is, of course, a difference compared to previous weeks; we have one less day to prepare, so we had to move the training to the stadium on Traugutt street. It’s something we unfortunately have no control over, and all we can do is treat this situation as a challenge we need to handle.
Does Lechia focus on set pieces and throw-ins during training, especially considering they are Puszcza’s strengths:
We are working on that, I’m personally responsible for this part of the training and expect good results.
Can Puszcza’s strengths be turned against them:
We already have a strategy for the match. I know we will spend a lot of time defending and intercepting long passes. I won’t reveal more details.
What result from the team would the coach be satisfied with:
I would be happy with 38-40 points by the end of the season because I believe that would secure our stay in the Ekstraklasa. Our current results are good, but they could be better, so we will keep working on them.
