Szymon Weirauch moves from Zagłębie Lubin to Lechia Gdańsk on a definite transfer! The 20-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2029.
Szymon Weirauch began his football career in his hometown of Walbrzych, being an alumni of the local Górnik. As a teenager, he joined Zagłębie Lubin, where he first made his debut in the third-league reserve team in 2020, and last season in the Zagłębie first team, for which he played in 8 PKO BP Ekstraklasa matches and one in the Fortuna Cup of Poland. In recent years, he has regularly appeared between the posts in second-team matches. He also has a stint with Poland’s under-18 national team.
– Szymon is a young and talented goalkeeper with good physical conditions. From the beginning, the club’s management and I have been building a staff based on our philosophy of attracting young players and creating conditions for their development. Lechia is a good place to spread his wings, and we believe that with diligent work Szymon will succeed,” says sports director Jakub Chodorowski.
