Vladyslav Lupashko ahead of the match against Miedź Legnica

Ahead of the match against Miedź Legnica, head coach Vladyslav Lupashko met with the media. The Green and Whites’ coach spoke, among other things, about the team’s preparations for the upcoming fixture.

The coach spoke about the preparations for the match against Miedź:

We played three away matches in the space of seven days. We analysed our performances and in some situations we had problems with the right approach. We made mistakes, but we have already worked on the areas we need to improve. There will be changes to the line-up and we will see what effect they have.

Szymon Weirauch did not feature in the previous match:

Szymon didn’t have the best start to the season, but he has made progress since then and I’m happy with his performances. We discussed making a change in goal. It was due to our situation regarding youth players as well as some health issues. I’m very pleased with Szymon’s development.

On the choice of captain:

We will choose the captain in the coming days. The team has to show who they trust and who should lead the group.

On new signing Javier Mena:

This is his first experience in Europe. He doesn’t speak English or Polish, so everything is new to him – the culture, the city and the country. We need to take proper care of players like him. We see his potential and we need time to see the full extent of what he can do.

The coach was also asked about Jakub Adkonis and Vladislav Blănuță:

I spoke to Kuba and told him to stay calm. We see his potential, but we have to take things step by step. Over the last month and a half, he has become a better player. There is a lot of competition for places and he has to deal with that. Vladislav, on the other hand, is an experienced player who still needs to improve his physical condition. We will give him more minutes with each game. His footballing ability is at a very high level.
