This Saturday, we will play another match within the 2024/25 season. As part of the 30th PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa round, we will take on the Piast Gliwice team at the Polsat Plus Arena. The start of the meeting at 14:45.
We recently played a thrilling match against Stala Mielec at the Polsat Plus Arena, which ended in our 3:2 triumph. The first goal for Lechia was scored by Tomas Bobcek in the 72nd minute. Then, in added time, our Slovakian striker scored again, and just before the end of the game the score was set at 3:2 by Tomasz Neugebauer. The team showed that they can fight to the end.
– They play in a very different way compared to other teams in Poland. It’s also something a bit new for our players, but we understand how they play. They are definitely a very good team, and they have freedom on the pitch because there’s no pressure on them regarding their place in the table. But ultimately, it’s about us – and how we play. – said coach John Carver at his pre-match press conference.
– It is certainly a good team with a lot of offensive potential. We are aware that we will have to beware of mistakes in defence, because Piast will be able to exploit them. I think that if we add efficiency and consistency in offense and take care of the assumptions for this match, we are able to successfully oppose Piast. – said Tomasz Wójtowicz at a press briefing.
