This Friday we return to Polsat Plus Arena Gdansk. On July 26, we will play a match of the 2. round of the 2024/25 PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa season against Motor Lublin. The first whistle blows at 8:30 pm.
Last season’s matches at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdansk provided us with a ton of excitement. The fans’ cheering in the “Gdańsk Fortress” repeatedly carried our players to victory and undoubtedly helped us return to the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa. In our first match after returning to the elite, we tied in an away game against Slask Wroclaw 1:1. After a slight underachievement, the moment had come to get our first victory of the season and take a step up the table!
– We are certainly very happy and in such a good mood we are preparing for this inaugural meeting in the Ekstraklasa on our home field. This is the biggest positive for us, that after this extended period of time we will be able to, above all, play for our fans and in our stadium. This has motivated us, you could say, all week, it motivates us, and I think it will be exactly the same on match day. We are coming to one of the newcomers, a team that is very well put together, a team that has repeatable behavior. I think we mainly focus on ourselves, but also analyze what the opponent has new to offer relative to at least last season. We expect a very difficult meeting, we expect a meeting in which certainly Motor will also want to look for their chances, in order to take away a favorable result, but we can’t imagine any other scenario than that the three points stay in Gdansk. – said coach Szymon Grabowski at a pre-match press conference.
– We have a good feeling, but of course we want more. We had a chance to see what playing in the Ekstraklasa is like. We were close to winning it, so of course we could have been even happier, but now we will do everything to win this home match – Andrei Chindris said at a press briefing.
RIVAL SILHOUETTE: MOTOR LUBLIN
Last season, Motor Lublin won promotion to the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa after fierce bargaining. The club from the Lublin voivodeship returned to the highest competition class in our country after 32 years. W 1. Queue of the new season Motor Lublin faced Rakow Czestochowa. The match ended in a 0:2 loss for the Lubliners.
LAST MATCH WITH MOTO LUBLIN
The last time we faced Motor was on December 16, 2023, at an away match in Lublin. It was a match played as part of the 19. Fortuna 1. league. Lublinians won that meeting 1:0. On the other hand, the last match at the Polsat Plus Arena against Motor Lublin took place on July 28, 2023, as part of the 2nd round of the Fortuna 1st League. The match ended in a 0:1 loss for our team.
