Dawid Kurminowski leaves Lechia Gdańsk

Our Club hereby announces, with great regret, that Dawid Kurminowski is no longer a Lechia player.

Pursuant to the provisions of his contract, both the Club and the Player were entitled to unilaterally terminate the contract until 30 June 2026 in the event of the team’s relegation to a lower division.

Given that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has granted the Polish Football Association (PZPN) until 29 June 2026 to respond to Lechia’s appeal, no decision from the Tribunal in Lausanne will be issued before 30 June 2026.

As a result, our Club was forced to make this decision without being able to wait for the ruling on the disputed five-point deduction.

Under the current circumstances, the Club could not retain Kurminowski under contract due to his high salary and the financial risk this would represent should Lechia Gdańsk’s position ultimately not prevail before the CAS.

The White and Greens will always remember Kurminowski’s magnificent header against Arka in the derby on his debut for the Club, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his sporting career.

In due course, the PZPN will be held liable for the irreparable harm suffered by Lechia as a consequence of its unlawful five-point sanction.
