Vladislav Lupashko After the Tricity Derby
The derby belongs to Lechia! The White-and-Greens defeated their rivals 2:1, securing three extremely valuable points. Following an emotional encounter, head coach Vladislav Lupashko spoke at the post-match press conference, where he reflected on his team’s performance.
Head Coach’s Post-Match Comments:
I think there is not much to say after a match like this. Congratulations to all Lechia supporters. I saw the right level of commitment from our players on the pitch and how they responded to the opposition’s provocations. We had warned them about this before the game, so we were prepared. We have a very young squad, and many of our players had never experienced this kind of pressure before. We told them that our opponents were experienced and would try to throw them off balance.
The Head Coach Also Reflected on the Atmosphere Surrounding the Match:
During matches and after the final whistle, I analyse what happens on the pitch and make plans for the future. We have an intense week ahead of us, with three matches to play, so we need to step up our work. However, for a moment, I took my mind off analysing the game and thought back to the emotions I had felt before kick-off. What I experienced after the final whistle was something truly special. I realised that these are exactly the kind of matches that make me want to be a coach.
What Was Behind the Changes in Midfield:
The first substitution was made for tactical reasons. The remaining changes were due to fatigue among our players.
The Coach Was Also Asked About Danylo Beskorovaynyi and His Strong Performance:
I always tell my players that they need to transfer what they do in training into their performances on the pitch. Our training sessions must be much more demanding than the matches themselves. During training, Danylo faces intense pressing in tight spaces. Thanks to that, he should feel confident when playing in competitive matches. That is why I always emphasise that every player must give one hundred percent throughout the entire training week.
The Head Coach Acknowledged That There Are Still Areas for Improvement:
Yes, there were things I was not happy with, but I do not want to discuss them right now. There are so many variables in matches like these. Some tactical instructions become harder to execute, the crowd creates enormous pressure, and the opposition plays very aggressively. Every mistake can prove extremely costly. We also have to remember that we are one of the youngest teams in the league.
