Ukraine’s under-21 national team lost to their peers from England 1:2 in a European Championship qualifying match. Another appearance in the national colours was recorded by our midfielder Maksym Khlan.

Maksym started the match in the starting line-up and stayed on the pitch until the 56th minute, when he was replaced by Artem Smolyakov. The English scored both goals at the end of the match.

For the Ukrainian national team, it was the first defeat in the qualifiers, but it did not affect the already assured promotion to the final tournament. During the October training camp, the Ukrainians will play one more match, against Serbia on Tuesday 15 October.
