The summer period brings not only changes in the playing squad but also in the coaching structure of Lechia Gdańsk. Joining the team led by John Carver are: Jordan Tait, who will be responsible for individual player development, Łukasz Gajowniczek as the liaison between the first team and the Academy, and Szymon Kałuża as head physiotherapist.
Jordan Tait has over 15 years of experience gained in football academies in England, Scotland, and Canada. Most recently, he worked as the Lead Professional Development Phase Coach U-18 at Coventry City FC, and previously helped develop young talent at clubs including Middlesbrough FC. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside renowned coaches such as Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, Ruud Gullit, and John Carver. Tait also holds a master’s degree in sports management.
Łukasz Gajowniczek will serve as the link between the Academy and the first team while continuing in his role as Head Coach of the Academy. He has been with the club since 2010, working across all youth levels – from entry-level groups to the U-19 squad. Gajowniczek is a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk and holds a UEFA Elite Youth A coaching license.
Szymon Kałuża strengthens the medical staff as a physiotherapist with over 13 years of experience. In recent years, he worked with the first team at Legia Warsaw, and previously spent a decade with the British Ministry of Defence. His CV also includes collaboration with top ultramarathon runners and an internship at Swansea City AFC. Kałuża holds a degree in sports rehabilitation from the University of Salford in Manchester, physiotherapy degrees from WSB Academy and the University of Physical Education in Katowice.
