Coach Szymon Grabowski took part in a press conference before the match against Górnik Zabrze.
The result of the match against Raków hurt us all, but in football we can’t live with what once was. We have to look to the future. We are focused on training, good work and learning lessons. I hope that in the next game we will again show that the team can do a lot in this league – coach said. – We realize that we are going to meet the opponent that is well disposed and irritated by the last game. Nevertheless, I believe that nothing will prevent us to perform well in Zabrze and win the desired points. .
About the health status of the players:
– Tomasz Neugebauer is in individual training and is likely to go with us to Zabrze, while Serhij Bułeca, who is injured, will most likely be missing. The rest of the team is preparing for the next meeting.
On the reaction to the game against Raków:
– The team has been experiencing misfortunes for some time because when it seems that we have a chance to score, fate is not in our favor. One might think that the mentality is at a poor level, however, everything looks optimistic. There is no such thing that the players don’t want to or don’t believe. On the contrary, we are constantly focused on doing a good job and learning lessons.
About the experience of the players:
– Our experience is growing from game to game, although for now we are gaining it mainly on negative results. This is very difficult for all of us. But I won’t complain about the team being young or inexperienced. We are appreciated as a team, and in the face of the big picture we certainly don’t deserve the only 2 points we have. However, we need to work harder in training and during the match so that we earn this luck, and I hope that in the future we will say less and less often that we don’t have enough experienced players.
About the players:
– I’m not at all focused on whether Luis Fernandez failed the tests at Raków or not. I focus on the players I have at my disposal. With Luis I can’t use him because of club decisions, so I don’t consider what happens during the tests or any other time – said the coach. – I am after a discussion with the sporting director, work is underway so that we will strengthen in the forward position in the transfer window. With the injury to Tomas Bobcek and the absence of Luis Fernandez, it is clear that we need even more quality, so that out of the 3-4 situations we create, a minimum of 2 will end in goals. This needs to translate into scoring chances and therefore a different mentality and perception of the team. Hopefully by the end of the window someone will have arrived.
About the game against Górnik Zabrze:
– I hope that after the match against Górnik we will see the kind of defense we would like to see – brave in aerial duels and one-on-one duels, and this will result in a clean account. Górnik is a team that started the matches really well. The last game in terms of points certainly didn’t work out for them, but they’ve looked good from the start and they have experienced players who know how to act on Ekstraklasa pitches. Nevertheless, we are already after the analysis with the team, and we are working on those things that we would like to use in Zabrze. I hope that the plan that is outlined to the players will bring the desired effect.
