1 November is a time when we remember those who have left us. It is also a time to reflect on those who have sat forever in the White-Green Sky Sector this year and at the end of 2023. Their passion and contribution to the club will live on in our memories.

Remembering those who have left us in the last 12 months.

Wojciech Łazarek was born on 4 October 1937. He was a player of Lechia Gdańsk in 1967-1971 and was the coach of our team in the 1974/75 and 1984/85 seasons. Wojciech Łazarek was also a selector of the Polish national team in 1986-1989. He died on 13 December 2023.

Andrzej Trojanowski was born on 24 February 1952. He was for many years the director of the Mayor’s Office for Sport at the Gdansk City Hall. Andrzej Trojanowski was also involved in the organisation of EURO 2012 in Gdańsk. He died on 25 January 2024.

Janusz Jakuszewski was born on 10 June 1942. He played for our team from 1962 to 1965 and was also Lechia’s junior coach from 1974 to 1986. He served as team manager from 1980 to 1982. He died on 23 February 2024.

Andrzej Januszewki was born on 24 August 1943. He served as Lechia’s president during the years of successes achieved by the club, such as winning the Polish Cup and competing with Juventus Turin. He died on 8 July 2024.

Zbigniew Golemski was born on 9 February 1945. He was the club’s director in the 1980s, when Lechia won the Polish Cup and Super Cup and competed against Italy’s Juventus. He died on 16 August 2024.

Zbigniew Kociołek was born on 21 January 1945. He worked intermittently for Lechia in various roles during the 1970s and 1980s, including serving as first coach in the 1986/87 and 1987/88 seasons, and died on 18 September 2024.

Andrzej Głównia was born on 9 November 1951. He was an alumni of our team and one of Lechia’s best players in the 1970s. He was honoured with a star in the ‘Avenue of the Stars’ at the stadium at Traugutta 29 Street. In 1973 he won the poll for the most popular footballer of the Polish Coast. He died on 22 September 2024.
